Line Juggling Ahead of Game with USA

Mike Babcock is shuffling the deck in preparation for the game with Team USA.

Canada has struggled to find the right mix on the top line and tonight will start with Mike Richards on the top line with Sidney Crosby and Rick Nash. They have tried Bergeron, Iginla and Toews on that top line but have yet to find the right mix.

A good start would be to make sure Crosby is one the ice for each and every power play.

Canada will need to win in regulation to assure they take top spot in the group. The United States is currently holding a one point lead over the Canadians.

Here's hoping the stiff opposition helps the Canadian team elevate their level of play a little bit. They may have been able to get away with a soft approach against the Norwegians and Swiss but will need to get physical with the Americans.

There is a ton of skill on this Canadian roster but it's time to establish an identity against Team USA. Has the makings of the best game of the tournament thus far.

Puck drops at 7:40 eastern time...

GO CANADA GO!

  1. Hope this game is as good or better than the Russia - Czechslovakia game earlier
    today !

This game was won by Ovechkin, when his check levelled Jagr, and the Russians created a turnover goal on the play .

Near the end , he also fought hard to clear his zone, which worked, and Datsyuk
got an empty netter to win 4-2!

Canada needs to be physical but clean, and play 60 minutes, to beat this young American team !

    Canada 5 USA 4

  2. I wonder if Iginla is hurt. The guy gets a hat trick for you in game one, I don't think he deserves to be demoted.

  4. Hopefully Luongo starts from here on out. Man,we looked old compared to a bunch of guys who would be second and 3rd line players on a lot of teams. Miller won this game, yes, but guys like Marleau, Pronger, even Brodeur looked old and slow and out of place. Did bergeron even play? What about morrow and his "penalty killing"?

I still say we win the gold, but these guys have to move the puck faster when they're moving it and shoot the F---ing puck when they're shooting.

I hate heater, and won't ever cheer again when he scores, but at least he isn't afraid to shoot, that's for sure.
